Our approach

Evidence before publication

How Android Index separates confirmed facts, specification-based analysis, firsthand testing, and uncertainty.

Sources and accuracy

Device specifications belong in validated records with official or licensed sources, a checked date, model identifiers, and regional configurations. Record source conflicts and unknown values instead of guessing. Do not copy competitor descriptions or republish imagery without permission.

Facts, analysis, and reviews

Published comparisons explain tradeoffs and their evidence. We do not invent scores, ratings, testimonials, expertise, or search metrics.

Leaks and upcoming devices

News about devices that are not officially announced is labeled Unconfirmed. Every leaked or reported detail is attributed to its source where it appears, marked as reported rather than confirmed, and never presented as a specification. Certification filings are named as such. Upcoming devices get no device page until the manufacturer announces them, and the article is updated when official details replace reports.

Exact configurations

A comparison only means something between the same category at the exact region, model, RAM and storage, cellular version, watch size, and any chipset variation. Every value belongs to a named configuration, and variant differences keep their own sources.

What a difference means

A larger display is a size difference. Battery capacity is not tested runtime. Megapixels do not establish camera quality. Listed durations need matching battery conditions and benchmarks need their methodology. Comparisons mark values that differ without declaring winners or creating a universal score.

Missing information

Not confirmed means there is no verified value. Not supported means a feature has been verified as absent. Not applicable means the field does not apply to that device. These states stay distinct throughout cards, specifications, and comparisons.

The publication gate

Draft and review records are never public. Development fixtures are visible only in explicit preview mode; all preview pages are noindex, and preview sitemap and RSS contain no entries. A normal build requires a confirmed HTTPS origin and excludes fixtures. Publishing content requires source verification, image rights, contributor approval, and unique reader value.

Material changes and review

Update the content date only when facts or analysis materially change. Corrections are reported through the contact page; each one keeps a record of what changed, why, and which source supports it. Published content is reviewed by a person before release.

Commercial relationships

No affiliate programs, sponsorships, compensated links, or automated price feeds are configured. If introduced, disclose each relationship visibly and mark compensated links with sponsored link attributes. Commercial availability must not influence conclusions.

Never miss a new Android device

One short email when a phone, tablet, watch, or earbuds joins Android Index, with a link to its full specs.
