Our approach

Privacy, plainly explained

What Android Index stores in your browser, how search and shared comparison links work, and which requests the site makes, explained plainly.

Browser storage

Your comparison selections are stored under androidindex-compare in local storage. They stay in your browser; use Clear all to remove them, or clear the site browser data.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, Android Index sends your email address to Resend, which maintains the mailing list and delivers the newsletter. The address is used only for Android Index editorial emails, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. After a successful signup, the site stores androidindex-newsletter-subscribed in local storage so it can stop showing the signup form; your email address is not stored in the browser.

Search and shared links

Search loads a static index and filters it in your browser. Search terms can appear in the search URL. Comparison selections and optional directory filters use URL fragments. Anyone with a shared comparison link can read its selections; they are not private records.

Network requests

Apart from the optional newsletter signup, the site has no analytics, ad network, account system, cookies, or contact processing. Hosting providers may keep request logs according to their policies. External source links take you to websites with their own privacy practices.

Never miss a new Android device

One short email when a phone, tablet, watch, or earbuds joins Android Index, with a link to its full specs.
