Specification-based comparison
Pixel 11 Pro vs Pixel 11 Pro XL: Differences
Pixel 11 Pro vs Pro XL across size, weight, display, battery, charging, price, cameras, storage, and regional models.
The short answer
Choose the Pixel 11 Pro for the same cameras, processor, storage ladder, and update promise in a phone that is 10 mm shorter, 4.6 mm narrower, and 22 g lighter. Choose the Pixel 11 Pro XL for its 6.8-inch display, 5,115 mAh battery, and Google’s faster quoted 30-minute charge result. The XL cost $200 more at US launch.
Neither is the camera upgrade over the other. Both have the same 50 MP wide, 48 MP ultrawide, and 48 MP 5x telephoto cameras, and both use Tensor G6 (Google Store specifications).
Size and weight
| Measurement | Pixel 11 Pro | Pixel 11 Pro XL | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Height | 152.7 mm | 162.7 mm | XL is 10 mm taller |
| Width | 71.9 mm | 76.5 mm | XL is 4.6 mm wider |
| Depth | 8.4 mm | 8.5 mm | XL is 0.1 mm thicker |
| Weight | 204 g | 226 g | XL is 22 g heavier |
Width is the more useful one-handed-use check: 4.6 mm is added across the phone before a case. If reach and pocket fit matter, compare those dimensions with a phone you already find comfortable rather than choosing from screen diagonal alone.
Display
The Pro has a 6.3-inch 1280 × 2856 LTPO OLED; the Pro XL has a 6.8-inch 1344 × 2992 LTPO OLED. Both vary from 1 to 120 Hz and carry the same published HDR and peak-brightness figures (Google).
The XL gives text, maps, video, and split-screen layouts more physical room. The Pro fits the same interface into a narrower body. Resolution is adjusted for each size, so the decision is usable area rather than one model unlocking a different display technology.
Battery and charging
Google lists a typical 4,850 mAh battery for the Pro and 5,115 mAh for the Pro XL. Capacity is not a measured runtime, and Google claims more than 30 hours for both under its own test conditions.
For wired charging, Google quotes up to 55% in about 30 minutes for the Pro with a 30W or higher USB-C PPS charger, and up to 75% for the XL with a 45W or higher charger. Google does not state either phone’s maximum wired input wattage. Both support Qi2.2 Pixelsnap wireless charging up to 25W, and chargers are sold separately.
Cameras and software support
The rear and front camera specifications are shared, including the 5x optical telephoto and 42 MP front camera. A larger body does not add another lens or a higher camera resolution. Numeric specifications alone also do not establish photo quality.
Both launched with Android 17 and receive seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates, counted from first availability on the US Google Store (Google update policy).
Storage and regional models
Both phones offer 256 GB with 12 GB RAM, plus 512 GB and 1 TB with 16 GB RAM and Zoned UFS. Our Pixel 11 Pro storage guide explains that configuration choice separately.
The US models use dual eSIM and include mmWave 5G: G7SWN for the Pro and GBC0H for the Pro XL. The rest-of-world sub-6 GHz families use a nano-SIM plus eSIM: GM45K for the Pro and G4HCD for the Pro XL (Google Pixel Help). Buy the model intended for your market rather than assuming the radio and SIM setup are interchangeable.
Price and who each suits
At US launch, the Pixel 11 Pro started at $1,099 and the Pro XL at $1,299, both with 256 GB (Google announcement). Current prices and storage premiums vary by market.
Choose the Pro if you want the lighter, narrower device and do not need a 6.8-inch canvas. Choose the Pro XL if the larger display and battery are worth the added size, weight, and launch-price difference. Choose storage only after size: the same capacities and RAM tiers are available on both.
