Samsung confirms US carrier sales beginning September 3, 2026, followed by nationwide US sales and a select-market international rollout on September 4. Availability and configurations vary by market. Samsung US Newsroom: Galaxy S26 FE US pricing and availability, Samsung Global Newsroom: Galaxy S26 FE launch and specification table Checked .
The Galaxy S26 FE is Samsung's route into the Galaxy S26 lineup for people who do not want to pay flagship prices. At a $699.99 US launch price for 128 GB, it is the least expensive Galaxy S26 model, yet it keeps the basics that usually mark a higher tier: a 6.7-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display, IP68 water resistance, wireless charging, and a 3x optical telephoto camera.
Its update promise is as long as the flagships'. Samsung states seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, counted from the global launch date. That matches the promise Samsung makes for the Galaxy S26 series, so the lower price does not mean shorter support. It was also the first Galaxy S26 phone to launch with Android 17 and One UI 9.
The savings show up in the hardware. It uses Samsung's Exynos 2500 rather than the Snapdragon chip in the S26 Ultra, every model has 8 GB of RAM where the flagship phones here start at 12 GB, and the telephoto is an 8 MP 3x camera rather than the Ultra's pair of 3x and 5x lenses. The display is FHD+ rather than QHD+, Wi-Fi tops out at 6E, and the 45W charger is sold separately. In return, it weighs 193 g, less than the Galaxy S26 Ultra (214 g) and the Pixel 11 Pro (204 g).
Every Galaxy S26 FE has the same Exynos 2500 and 8 GB of RAM, so storage is the only real choice, and the specification table lists no memory card slot. In the US, 128 GB is the $699.99 launch configuration and Samsung's US store lists 256 GB at $799.99. Samsung's own stores sell 512 GB only in some markets, including the UK, Germany, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, and Australia (Graphite only in Vietnam and Australia); India, the UAE, Taiwan, Mexico, and South Korea list 256 GB only. US carrier models (SM-S741U) offer fewer colors than the unlocked SM-S741U1, and at 256 GB the carriers list only Graphite.
