Is the Galaxy S26+ right for you?
The Galaxy S26+ is the middle phone in Samsung's 2026 flagship series, for people who want a large, sharp screen and a bigger battery without paying for the Ultra's camera system. It has a 6.7-inch QHD+ display at up to 120 Hz, a 4,900 mAh battery, and 45W wired charging in a 190 g body that is 7.3 mm thick.
Against the Galaxy S26 it adds 0.4 inches of screen, a sharper QHD+ panel instead of FHD+, 600 mAh of battery, and faster charging (45W against 25W), and it costs $200 more at US launch ($1,099.99 against $899.99). The cameras, 12 GB of RAM, and the seven-generation OS and seven-year security promise are the same.
Against the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which launched at $1,299.99, it gives up the 6.9-inch screen, the 200 MP main camera, the 5x telephoto, the privacy display, and 60W charging. Like the S26, it uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the US and either that chip or an Exynos 2600 elsewhere, depending on the market.
A good fit if
- You want a large QHD+ screen and a 4,900 mAh battery without paying for the Ultra.
- You want 45W charging: Samsung quotes up to 69% in about 30 minutes.
- You want a long update promise: seven OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.
Look elsewhere if
- You want a phone that is easy to use one-handed: the Galaxy S26 is 6.3 inches and 167 g.
- You shoot at longer distances: the Galaxy S26 Ultra adds a 5x telephoto and a 200 MP main camera.
- You want a large screen for less: the 6.7-inch Galaxy S26 FE launched at $699.99 with the same update promise.
Which configuration to choose
Every model has 12 GB of RAM, so the choice is 256 GB or 512 GB, then your region's model. The US launch price was $1,099.99 for 256 GB, and only the US model lists mmWave 5G. Buy SM-S947B/DS (dual SIM) or SM-S947B internationally, SM-S947U1 unlocked or SM-S947U from carriers in the United States, SM-S947W in Canada, SM-S947N in South Korea, and the SIM-free or carrier models in Japan, where most carriers sell 256 GB in a few colors only. Pink Gold and Silver Shadow are Samsung.com exclusives, and Samsung Canada does not list White.
