How to choose a watch for your Android phone

  1. 01

Confirm it works with your phone

Check the minimum Android version, whether a specific brand of phone is needed for some features, and whether an iPhone is supported at all.

  2. 02

Match size and weight to your wrist

A lighter case is more comfortable for all-day wear and sleep tracking. Many watches come in two sizes with different batteries.

  3. 03

Read water ratings for your activity

5ATM suits swimming, 10ATM adds margin, and dive certification such as EN13319 is what matters for diving.

  4. 04

    Decide whether you need LTE

An LTE model can take calls and messages without your phone nearby. It usually costs more and may only come in some sizes.
